About this work

Many older homes around Boston have porches that are failing and need replacement, not another coat of paint. The front porch is the first thing anyone sees, so we rebuild it from the footings to the railings to the decking, to code and to the look of the house.

Back decks get the same treatment: proper footings, pressure-treated framing, the decking and railing you choose, and stairs that feel solid underfoot. Our carpenters have rebuilt two-storey porches on three-deckers and built new decks on capes and colonials across the area.

We do this work in Medford, Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Malden, Melrose, Stoneham, Winchester and 80+ communities across Greater Boston, out of our shop in Medford. Full service area.

Questions people ask

Does a porch rebuild need a permit?

Yes, in every town around Boston. We pull it and build to the code the inspector will check.

Can you keep the look of my old porch?

That is the point. We match the columns, railings and trim to the house so it looks like it was always there, with new footings and framing underneath.

Wood or composite decking?

Both. Pressure-treated and cedar are cheaper up front; composite costs more and never needs staining. We quote what you want.
